What Participants Say
Accounts from the Room
These are representative accounts from participants across our three programmes, collected between April and May 2025.
Siriwan Kaewmanee
Retired teacher, Chonburi
I joined the six-month programme after retiring, not knowing where to begin. What I found was not a course in the typical sense β it was more like a guided conversation about ideas I had never put into words. The reading was accessible, the discussions were honest, and the bound volume I received is something I still refer to. I came back the following year and found it genuinely different the second time around.
May 2025 Β· Decade-Long Reading Programme
Prawit Nantakool
Civil engineer, Pattaya
The investor programme suited how I like to learn. I have always preferred reading over watching videos or attending lectures, so the format made sense to me immediately. My one observation is that the sessions filled up quickly β I had to wait a couple of months for a spot. But that also told me something about how other people were finding it. The one-page summary I drafted with the facilitator's input has stayed on my desk.
April 2025 Β· Reading-Friendly Investor
Arunrat Thongsuk
Business owner, Banglamung
I attended the insurance workshop after realising I had not reviewed my family's policies in almost a decade. Nopporn did not tell me what to buy β he explained how to think about it, which is what I actually needed. The reference card he gave us is now folded into my folder of financial documents. I have already recommended the weekend workshop to two colleagues whose children are leaving for university.
May 2025 Β· Considered Approach to Insurance
Wanchai Lertprasertkul
Hospital administrator, Chonburi
I work in healthcare, and I see the consequences of poor financial planning often. I joined the reading programme hoping to be better informed β not to be sold a solution, but to understand the landscape. That is exactly what I got. Pattaraporn's facilitation is calm and unhurried, and the group discussion often took the material somewhere more useful than I expected. I was sceptical about a six-month commitment but it was worthwhile.
May 2025 Β· Decade-Long Reading Programme
Malee Phaiboon
Secondary school teacher, Si Racha
The investor programme was my first formal engagement with finance and I was nervous about not understanding the material. I should not have been β the readings were accessible and the pace was genuinely comfortable. I would have liked one more session at the end, but the one-page summary I left with was more useful than any brochure I have been handed at a bank. A good experience overall.
April 2025 Β· Reading-Friendly Investor
Chanin Ruangkul
Logistics manager, Laem Chabang
I am in my late forties, which means I have made a few financial decisions I can no longer undo. What the insurance workshop offered was not regret β it offered clarity. I left understanding why some of my older policies no longer suited my situation, and with a list of questions I could actually use when speaking to an adviser. No pressure, no product, just useful structure. That is rare.

In More Detail
Two Participant Journeys
Case Study β Reading-Friendly Investor
From Avoidance to Engagement
The Starting Point
A 52-year-old civil servant in Chonburi had avoided reading anything about investing for years β partly from discomfort, partly because everything she encountered seemed designed to sell her something. She arrived at the programme with no prior reading and some scepticism.
Through the Programme
Over four sessions she worked through excerpts on savings habits, index investing concepts, and long-horizon thinking. The small group allowed her to ask questions she described as "the ones I was embarrassed not to know." The facilitator reviewed her one-page summary drafts between sessions.
What Changed
She described leaving with "not a plan, but a way of thinking." Six months later, she had opened a savings account she had previously deferred, and enrolled in the six-month programme. "I am still reading," she said. "That is the thing I did not expect."
"The reading was the part I dreaded and then turned out to be the part that made it work." β Participant, aged 52, Chonburi
Case Study β Considered Approach to Insurance
A Life-Stage Review That Was Long Overdue
The Starting Point
A 47-year-old business owner from Banglamung had the same insurance policies he had taken out in his early thirties. His children were now adults, his income had changed significantly, and he was aware that his coverage probably no longer reflected his situation β but unsure how to evaluate it.
Through the Programme
The weekend workshop walked through the structure of life and health insurance in the Thai market, the typical triggers for reviewing coverage, and a set of questions to ask any insurance professional. No product recommendations were made. The reference card focused on process, not outcomes.
What Changed
He left with a list of seven questions to take to his next meeting with an insurance adviser. He described the subsequent conversation as "the first one I have had where I understood what was being proposed." He adjusted two existing policies and declined a third that he could now assess clearly.
"I did not leave knowing what to buy. I left knowing how to think about the decision β which turned out to be more useful." β Participant, aged 47, Banglamung
